Chinese New Year & Dr. Seuss' birthday

Last week the Kindergarten celebrated the Chinese New Year.
They learned about the Chinese culture, the Chinese horoscope, brought apples
and oranges to bring their classroom good luck, cleaned their rooms for homework
(out with the old, in with the new), ate orange chicken and rice with chopsticks,
made a flag with Chinese letters, and ended the week with a Chinese New Year
Parade around the school.  I am so grateful Kinlee has such a fun, hands on teacher
to make learning an amazing experience.
Last week was Dr. Seuss' Birthday, we celebrated by going to
school early in the morning for Parents and Pastires, we read to the
kids and Connor, Kinlee, and Matthew all won a book from
the book drawing.  Kinlee's class celebrated by having a read a thon.
They wore their pajamas, brought blankets and pillows, and read with the
dogs, Logan and Baxter (thing 1 and thing 2).  That evening we had green eggs
and ham and strawberry shortcake (made to look like the Cat in the Hat's hat)
and Connor and Kadee read Dr. Seuss books to Matthew and Kinlee.
