True Blue

Rory in the Zion's Practice Center

Rory is a HUGE Jazz fan. Every game they have different contest numbers you can text to win prizes. Rory enters all of them and has been entering the True Blue Jazz contest every game. Well all those entries paid off, he won! There were over 25,000 texts and only 20 people actually won the contest. He got to pick his dream Utah Jazz job and picked security (of course).

Last Thursday he had already won Jazz tickets through the hospital so we asked Debbie to keep the kids over night so we could go to the game and stay at the Anniversary Inn (we stayed in the Sultan's Palace Suite). Since we were coming up anyway, they invited us to attend a luncheon that day and tour the Zion's Basketball Center. It was so amazing. We got to meet the owner of the Jazz, Randy Rigbee, got to see the Jazz locker room, practice court, and tour the entire facility. The lunch was amazingly good and it was so fun to see a place few people ever get to go to. That night we got to go to the game and were a little disappointed that both the Jazz and BYU lost in overtime.

Monday was Rory's actual game day so we got Connor out of school early and headed back up to Salt Lake. They had dinner for us in the basement of the Arena and then the Jazz Bear and dancers came in to say hello. Connor was so excited. He is a huge Bear fan. A couple years ago he got a free Jazz Bear DVD and seriously watched it every single day. He has wanted to meet the Jazz Bear ever since and I am so glad he finally got his chance. Bear sprayed Connor with silly string then let me take a picture of him with Connor and Rory.

After the dinner Connor and I went up to our seats (first row in the uppper bowl, suprisingly good seats) and Rory went down to the court to do security. He had such a great time. He got to high five the players as they came on the court and got to put his feet on the floor (a dream on his bucket list). At halftime they let Connor and I come down to the floor and high five the players and coaches as they came on the court. After that Connor said, "I am never washing my hand again!" I told him to take that memory and store it in his brain because he will probably never get to do that again. Rory got to stand down there the rest of the game and met some really neat people. They announced his name at halftime and I am hoping they give us a copy of the picture they took. We wish the Jazz could have pulled off a win, but it was an overall amazing experience and I am so glad Rory picked Connor and I to share it with him.

My favorite sign in the whole place. It was in the restroom of the Jazz Locker Room.

Plagiarism

Ok, is it actually stealing if you paid for the pictures? I had the girls pictures taken about a month and a half ago and they turned out great. All credit goes to Bryner Photography, I don't want them turning me into the Fed's for posting pictures online without their permission.

Just an FYI- Kinlee dances now. She shakes her head back and forth when the music is on, it is hilarious. She also started saying "mama" so she doesn't just say "dada" anymore. She can roll all over the place and somehow maneuvers around the room without actually crawling. She has been sitting up for a good month now and it is so nice to not worry about her crashing onto her head.

It's Finally Finished (almost)

After a couple months of stress we have finally finished the family/game room in the basement. It is so nice to have it done and have all that extra room. As you can see from the pictures the game room is a toy room and we don't have a t.v. or couch yet, but we will in time. Rory is going to rock the fire place and I have a few finishing touches but for the most part it is complete!

Happy St. Pat's!

Yay for St. Patrick's Day!

We had such a fun day. The leprechaun visited our house last night and left some treats for the kids. That trickster colored our milk green but was kind of lazy this year and didn't play any other tricks on us.

Connor won a contest in school. He had to find the Leprachaun, fill out a form, and they drew his name. He won a mini pot of gold and was sooooo excited. Kadee won the musical shamrock game in preschool and got to bring all the paper shamrocks from the game home. She was so pumped. Kinlee is all smiles and is sitting up so well. She is mobile, but only when she is on her back. She can make it halfway across the room on her back but if you turn her on her stomach she just gets frusterated. Weird, I know.

Last Saturday we took little miss Kin to her first parade. She wasn't that impressed. She laid in her stroller and looked around like we were all crazy. The other kids loved it though and got so much candy. She is in the picture, Kadee just had to make sure you saw her too. Look behing Kadee Jo's cute pigtails and you might catch a glimpse of Kinlee.

Tomorrow is my best friend's birthday. He will be turning 29!!! I love you Rory Von.

Sappy song lyrics ahead:

I never had no one
I could count on
I've been let down so many times
I was tired of hurtin'
So tired of searchin'
'Til you walked into my life
It was a feelin'
I'd never known
And for the first time
I didn't feel alone

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
I don't know where I'd be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You're right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
And I still tremble
When we touch
And know the look in your eyes
When we make love

You're more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Everytime I look at you
And I don't know where I'd be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You're my best friend

Funny things kids say

Connor: Mom, how old is grandpa Earl?
Me: He will be 75 in May
Connor: Holy cow! No wonder he can't hear!
Kadee: You better tell grandma Bet she can't yell at him on his birthday, cuz we don't yell at people on their birthdays!

Landon (my nephew): Sarah, can I have a nightmare at your house? (he meant late night)

The Spazz

Rory coached Connor's Junior Jazz team this year so they gave us 4 free tickets to the game. We left Kinlee (who has another ear infection btw) with my Uncle and his family and headed to the game with Logan, Connor, and Kadence. All Kadence was excited for was the free hot dog and a churro. She ate every bite too. After that she was pretty bored but Logan and Connor had a blast. They were dancing, cheering, and laughing the whole game. We were so glad we got to go and have such a fun experience.

Each of the kids got a cool new Jazz ball

Sick, sick, sick...

February was such a crazy month. I think every single person in my family was sick with something at one time or another. I was sooooo sick, I don't think I have ever been that sick in my life. I had a sinus infection that turned into a viral rash that spread to my throat so it was miserable and poor Kinlee has had a runny nose and no voice for weeks now. It is so sad to hear her cry when it's so hoarse. I am so glad we are all finally feeling better and am looking forward to warm weather.

The family/movie room in the basement is almost finished, the closet is amazing. It is my favorite thing. It is so big and is going to keep me so organized. Once we have paint on the walls and the carpet down I will post pictures.

Rory bought a truck. It's Kyle's old 2005 Chevy Duramax and it's kind of a touchy subject. We talked about buying it a little, but he didn't really discuss it with me. He just kind of went to the bank, took out a loan, and the rest is history. I guess I'm ok with it, we really needed one to pull the camp trailer and now I can't wait to go camping for Easter.

I guess that is all for now. I was sick of looking at my sad Roxy post so I thought I would update so I have something else to look at.

April and May

April and May have been a blur.  We moved into the new house so it's been a very busy time in our lives.  The kids are really enjoying h...
