Red Ribbon Week!

This week our school is celebrating Red Ribbon Week.   We started off the week wearing as much red as we could:

Tuesday was my favorite day of the whole school year, crazy hair day:

Wednesday was say "Boo!" to drugs, the kids wore their Halloween costumes:

Thursday was turn your back on drugs, so the kids wore their clothes backwards:

And Friday is "sock it to drugs" so the kids will wear crazy socks.  What a fun and CRAZY week!

Happy Halloween!

 Whether you're a:

Skeleton...

Monster High Cheerleader:

Or an Angel...

We hope you have a happy and safe Halloween!

The Friday before Halloween Debbie had her annual "Witches Night Out" with all her granddaughter's.  I wish I would have taken pictures because it turned out so cute!  She made all sorts of Halloween goodies, they decorated t-shirts, made magnets, decorated pumpkins, and went on a spooky witch hunt outside.  I was the witch hiding in the club house and scared all the kids except Kinlee who shouted, "I found my mommy!" The girls LOVE this tradition and told grandma she has to have her witches night out forever!  Saturday was our ward trunk or treat.  Rory and I made some yummy Broccoli Cheese Soup and while it was cooking I went with Nana, Brileigh, Elise, and Kadence to the play "Annie."  It was Kadence's first time going to a play and she loved it.   After the play Rory, the kids, and I headed to trunk or treat.  After eating Kadence got a really bad belly ache and Rory was in lots of pain from getting a 1/2 in Russian Olive thorn stuck in his foot, so they went home and left us to trunk or treat by ourselves.  The ward had some fun games and the kids love going around to all the rooms in the church and collecting candy.  Halloween night Debbie made all of us delicious chicken noodle soup, rolls, and sugar cookies.  After stuffing our faces we trick or treated all over her neighborhood and the kids even got to go to a Spook Alley at one of Debbie's neighbor's houses.  It was such a fun start to the holiday season and I am so very excited for Thanksgiving!!

Utah Deer Hunt 2012

Last night Rory and Connor headed out to look for some deer.  Rory had a Utah deer tag and Connor was so excited to shoot a two point.  My sister in law Candee shot a spike so he really wanted to one up her. :)  They were watching a herd of deer that had several small bucks in it, Connor really wanted Rory to shoot one of the small bucks, but Rory held off.  As it was getting dark, Rory noticed a deer coming out of the river bottom and told Connor, "that's a good buck!"  They watched the buck feed out into the field for about 20 minutes, then it finally got close enough that Rory was able to make a 350 yard shot.   The buck is a 7x4 and 30 inches wide with a 4 inch drop tine.  Good Job Boys!

Details...

I just read the most recent conference address given by President Monson and he said something that really impacted me... "The Lord is in the details of our lives."  This is such a true and profound statement.  He has blessed me in every aspect of my life and I count my blessings on a daily basis.  Here are some pictures of some of my greatest blessings:

I truly love my life...

Raising Kids....

Sometimes I think maybe I should have a career or get a full time job to help support our family.  Then I pray and think a little and realize I am right where I need to be. :)

Wyoming Elk Hunt 2012

Derk got an Elk Tag in Wyoming this year and decided to take his favorite son along for the ride. :)   They were gone for about a week and as always had so much fun.  Rory's comment on his dad's bull, "58 years old and still getting it done at 638 yards! Great job dad! Thanks for all the great memories!"  I'm so glad they had a great time and hope they get to go on many more hunts together!
