Happiness

Happiness is being a mom.  I love watching my kids learn, grow, succeed, and become better human beings.  We've had some exciting things happen for us the last few days.  Saturday Kadence had her last in house meet of the season.  She took first in her poses and second on her floor routine and finally got her back hand spring with no help!  She has been working on it for 8 months, so it was a huge accomplishment and we are super excited for her.

Last week Kinlee learned how to ride her bike with no training wheels!!!  Kinlee and Matthew also had their preschool programs.  I can't believe Kinlee is going to Kindergarten.  The programs were so cute and I love the scrapbooks the preschool teachers made us.  Kinlee has grown so much this year and knows all her letters and their sounds, I think she is ready for Kindergarten but she doesn't think it's fair that Matthew will get to see the preschool teachers and she won't.  Speaking of Matthew he has taken off with his speech.  The speech program at our school is fabulous and he is talking up a storm.  We are going to keep working on his speech and ABC Mouse through the summer and I think he'll be caught up by the time he starts kindergarten.

As I said in my last post, Connor wanted to run for Student Council President at Wellington Elementary, today he read his speech and elections took place.  I'm super excited to say he won!!  All the kids running did a great job and put in a ton of effort.  He is beyond excited and really wants to make some positive things happen at the school next year.  Below is his speech:

Knock, Knock (who’s there) Connor (Connor who) Connors your new president. Things I want to try to provide I want to try to provide a mustache day, one day I think we should have a two hour recess, I can provide the swat team to come to our school, I know bullying is an issue in our school and I would like to get more kids involved in trying to prevent bullying.  I want to make sure all the kids at our school have fun and get a good education in a positive environment. What I bring to the school is leadership by example, a good fun attitude, and hard work. 

My plan for the two hour recess is to have a fun time and try to provide fun actives. This would be a good time to get a break and have fun with your friends, but you have to follow rules and play respectful and let anybody join the game you’re playing. This may be a fun thing for everybody. This is for all grades kindergarten through fifth grade. 

Have you ever wanted to meet the swat team? I can make that happen!  

I mustache you a question. Do you like mustaches? You better, because if I win I’m going try to do a mustache day. This day is where you can wear mustaches to school including shirts you will be able to wear a mustache shirt to school.  

The biggest issue in school is bullying, I want more kids to help prevent bullying.  Bullying is bad. You do not have to like someone, but you still need to show them respect .This is the bad side of school I want to put up posters so we can have a lot less bullying and have fun. 

Vote for me, Connor Bradley for a two hour recess and a mustache day to prevent bullying.

Where has May gone?!

Holy cow, May is almost over!  I'm so excited for school to be out, 8 days left!  To summarize our month:
~We got moved into the house!!!!  It is so amazing and we are loving all the room!  We are slowly decorating but I think I have us completely unpacked (woot! woot!)
~ Brittnee and I took cupcakes to preschool to celebrate Kinlee and Kaydree's summer birthdays.  The kids sang Happy Birthday to the girls and enjoyed the Princess cupcakes. 


~ We had a mother's day/graduation/birthday dinner at Debbie's.  The guys all cooked for us for Mother's Day and it turned out delicious.

~Connor decided to run for Student Council President so we hung up signs and he got his speech written.  He gives his speech next week and is pretty pumped.  I'm secretly nervous, there are 3 other kids running for president and they are all really good candidates.  I sure hope he wins!!












~3rd and 4th grade went on a Field trip to the Living Planet Aquarium, Brittnee, Sandy, and I followed the bus up and enjoyed the field trip with our kiddos.  Kinlee and Matthew stayed behind and played with grandma Debbie.

April happenings

She loves cheer and was so excited (but extremely nervous) to get on stage
and strut her stuff.  She did wonderful, except she chickened out at the
last minute and didn't do her back walk over.   I told her she has
worked so hard, she needs to show off all her hard work!  She has been sick
and running a fever this week, hopefully she can recover quickly and
cheer at her performance this weekend.

summer waiting for it to begin!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter in St. George.  We went down there for a baseball tournament and ended up staying until Monday morning.  Connor's Sliderz team did great!  They lost their first game by 1, then won 20-1 the next game.  Saturday they won their first game and second game.  The second game was super exciting, Connor pitched almost the whole game and they ended up winning by one in extra innings.  Saturday was an intense, edge of your seat game.  The boys won and then played for a place in the championship!  Unfortunately they lost that game by 1 and ended up taking 3rd in the tournament, they were disappointed but we were so proud, they played their hearts out and did great!  When we weren't at the ball fields we were at the movie, out to eat, hanging in the camp trailer, or playing in Lorla's backyard.  Lorla's grandkids spent most the weekend at her house, so the kids played, swam, colored Easter Eggs, went on an Easter Egg hunt (Lorla made the kids adorable candy baskets), went to an Easter worship service at the Tuacahn theater, and we had Easter dinner with Lorla and her family.  We even got a visit from the Easter bunny.  He brought the kids each something special and of course lots of candy!  Kadee was so sad on Monday when it was time to come home.  We were actually going to head home Sunday, but the wind was blowing so bad we didn't want to pull the trailer in it.  It was a wonderful way to spend our Easter weekend, we love being with friends and family and being out enjoying the sunshine.

Dropping the ball

I used to be so fabulous at updating my blog all the time, but I have totally dropped the ball this month.  We have been so busy working on the house (we should be done in less than a month!), Connor has had baseball, we had a tournament in St. George last weekend and another one next weekend, Kadence has had Cheer and Gymnastics and Kinlee has had gymnastics.  Needless to say it's been crazy.

Connor has been playing baseball 3-4 times a week and had a tourney in St. George (or around St. George) last weekend.  We only won one game, but it was a good experience and the boys learned a lot.  Connor didn't really pitch much, but he played the outfield and made some great plays.  Last night he competed in his last Pinewood Derby and took 1st!!  He was so excited!  All he wanted was to beat his really good friend Gavin (who has won every year) so when he won he ran up to me and said, "Dreams really do come true!"  it was so great and a memory we won't soon forget.

Kadee has continued to do gymnastics 2 times a week and has delivered all her girl scout cookies.  She got to walk in the St. Patrick's day parade with her scout group then stayed at the Peace Gardens and sold cookies.  She has been begging me to let her do cheer so I put her in Helper Flare for the last six weeks.  She has caught on so quickly and comes home from school and practices all night long.  I'm super proud of her and so glad she has finally found her groove.

Kinlee has grown so much this last little bit.  I can't believe she only has about 6 weeks left of preschool.  Tomorrow they are going on a field trip to the dinosaur museum and Friday she has Kindergarten round up.  She still does gymnastics and loves it, she is a busy little bee and practices her head stand constantly, the other day I couldn't get around her in the hall because she was practicing and wouldn't let her legs down.  Last week Brittnee and I took Kinlee and Kaydree to the CHS Drill Team Princess Tea Party.  The girls loved it and were so excited to meet all the princesses (especially Belle).  While waiting for the fairy godmother they enjoyed cupcakes and danced to the Disney music playing in the background.  It is such a fun tradition, I will be sad when she is too old for it.  

Matthew is starting to talk so well!  I can tell speech and preschool are really helping him.  We also do ABC Mouse and I make him practice his words.  He is so excited about his baseball room, but I'm not sure how he feels about the new house.  Every time we go down there to work he says, "me go home now."

I'm so excited things are coming together with the house.  Our brick will be finished this week and Rory is going to start on flooring this weekend.  His dad has done our electrical so he's going to finish that up and I still have so much painting to do, but should be done within a week or so.  We are really pushing to be moved in by the middle of April, fingers and toes are crossed! 

Although we are super busy with the house, life goes on.  This week was dad's and donuts at the elementary school.  Rory went early with the kids and read with them and found some dads to talk baseball with.  Kinlee and Matthew were a little jealous that they didn't get to go, but Kinlee will be in Kindergarten next year and it will be her turn.  We've also been busy (as always) with gymnastics, scouts, baseball, and everything else life throws at us.  This past weekend Kadee, Kinlee, and I went up North and stayed with grandma and grandpa Curtis.  Grandma Bet babysat Kinlee while Kadee and I went with the girl scouts to the University of Utah gymnastics meet.  It was a lot of fun!  I've never been to a meet before and I must say I was very impressed.  Those gymnasts are amazing and I think it really motivated Kadee to work even harder at gymnastics.  The meet went pretty late, by the time we got back Kinlee was fast asleep.  The next morning we took grandma and grandpa to breakfast then headed home to work on the house.  Love quality time with my kiddos.
