It's All About...

For Family Night last night we colored these posters I had left over from preschool.  After we colored them each of us stood and told about our poster.  It was really fun to see what everyone had put so I wanted to share it on my blog. I didn't make any changes, everything is spelled exactly how the kids spelled it.

A little bragging...

So.... here are some fun things my cute kiddos have been up to:

The girls got bunk beds so Kin finally went from a crib mattress on the floor (she kept climbing out of her crib so that was my solution) to a big girl bed on the bottom bed of the bunk.  She looks so cute in her bed, but don't let her fool you... she sleeps with me every night!  I always SWORE I would never have a kid that slept in my bed and now look at me, a sucker for that little girl.  She sleeps with me and Rory has to sleep on the couch!!  That girl is soooo busy.  She keeps me on my toes.  She runs circles around the rest of us and talks like crazy.  I just had her 2 year old pictures taken and I can't believe she's 2!

Kad danced for 3 years and decided this year she wanted to try something new.  She is doing all-around gymnastics and is loving it.  Our tramp broke, so she keeps telling her dad he needs to get her a new one so she can practice at home.  She is our busy child.  She wants to do everything and I told her as long as she does well in school we will let her do as much as she can handle.  We had SEP's last week and she is doing great!  Her teacher is very impressed with her and said she is "soaring" academically.  So....we are letting her do a few activities this year.  Besides gymnastics she has started taking piano lessons and is in an after school choir.  I love it.  She comes home and practices piano and singing at the same time.  It really is too cute.  She is still doing girl scouts twice a month, so she really is a busy little bee.  I hope we can keep up with this girl and all her activities, I love that she is so excited about life and she is a busy body just like her mama.

Con is the BEST kid.  He really is so good.  He always helps me around the house and is doing AMAZING in school.  Not to brag (ok, I'm bragging) but this little 2nd grader is reading at a 4th grade level.  He loves to learn and is always eager to please his teacher.  Right now his obsession is football, so we eat, breathe, and sleep football.  He had a game tonight and is a blast to watch.  He got a touch down and stood in the end zone and did his own little touch down dance, he works so hard at sports, but loves every minute of it.  He is also doing scouts and is always working on his scout book.  He loves working on it and his Faith in God book, I think he'll probably be done with both long before he needs to be.  He is my over achiever and sometimes I have to remind him to slow down... He adores his daddy and I hope that never changes.

I am so grateful for my blessings.  I have great kids, a wonderful husband, fabulous in-laws, and an amazing family, I honestly could not ask for more.

Busy, busy, busy

I have really neglected my blog.  I feel really bad about it too, because this is my little journal of our family and I feel like I have totally dropped the ball.  I took on the overwhelming task of PTA President and have not stopped running since.  Between helping Rory with Wellington Rec, being 2nd counselor in Young Women's, PTA President, cleaning house, and most importantly being a mom, I feel like I never have time to rest, let alone update my blog.  I feel like everything I'm doing is super important, but I don't want my kids to feel like what I'm doing is more important than them.  I really try hard to sit down with them at homework time, read with them, walk with them, pray with them, and show them how much I love them.  After all, without them, none of this other stuff would even matter.  So if my blog is somewhat bare for the next 2 years I hope I will still make time to post things about my kids and life.  Wish me luck!  My favorite Ecards of the week:

Happy 10th Anniversary

Today Rory and I have been married for 10 years!!  This was Rory's post on Facebook this morning that made my whole day:

"Ten years ago today I made the best decision of my life. I married my best friend!! Love you so much Sarah Jo!! Here is to many more!!"

We have had an amazing 10 years.... this past weekend we went to Las Vegas for a little anniversary get away.  We did a lot of lounging around, got massages, went to dinner, laid on the beach at Mandalay Bay, walked the strip, and visited a comedy club.  It was fun to laugh and spend some time together and I'm so grateful I married such an amazing man! 

In ten years we have: had 3 amazing kids, bought and sold a house, built a house, moved 6 times, had  6 cars, bought a camp trailer, been to Colorado, Wyoming, Nevada, California, Arizona, & Mexico, we have camped, fished, and played, have made friends, have lost touch with friends, have lost loved ones, we've had dogs, cats, bunnies, & turkey's, have fought and made up and so much more!  I can't wait to see what the next 10 years will bring!!

It's My Party and I'll Cry if I Want To!

I just realized I never posted about Kinlee's 2nd Birthday party.  Since she only has like 2 friends we decided to have some friends over for a BBQ instead of having an actual party.  We invited a few of our closest friends, borrowed Hyrum and Paola's water bounce house, cooked hamburgers and hotdogs, had yummy salads and desserts, and opened presents.  Poor Kinlee got sunblock in her eyes right from the get go, so she was pretty miserable for the first half of the BBQ.  I rinsed her eyes a million times, but no matter what I did they were bright red and really agitated.  I think I finally got it all rinsed out because when we sang "Happy Birthday" and had cake and ice cream she was great.  It was such a great day, I just love spending time with our awesome friends!
